Title: Problem cielesności pamięci w perspektywie eschatologicznej
Abstract: Nauki kognitywne w ostatnich dziesięcioleciach znacząco wpłynęły na analizy powiązania umysłu i ciała na polu filozofii umysłu. Rozwiązania zagadnienia body-mind z kolei dotykają w sposób znaczący również teologii. W klasycznej myśli teologicznej wola, rozum i pamięć stanowią władze właściwe duszy. Owa przestrzeń natomiast może dopiero stanowić podstawę budowania antropologii teologicznej, która będzie mogła zachować swoją integralność względem odkryć neurobiologii.; During last decades the cognitive sciences have progressed a lot in analysing the link between mind and body on the field of philosophy of mind. The results of the body-mind investigations influence largely also theology. The classical theological thought considers the will, the reason and the memory as faculties of the soul. However, contemporary neuroscience attempts, with some success, to discover physical (i.e. cerebral) substrates of these faculties, which impacts also philosophy of the mind.
In this perspective, mutability and fragility of human body that is, according to psychologists, the memory’s ground, as well as human identity taken in its theological understanding, determined by the memory but transcending the temporal life, require some re-analysis of the spiritual dimension of the memory (and of other spiritual faculties) and some connection between the spiritual and the bodily sphere in the perspective of relation of the man with God. Though, theology must respect the scientific solutions of the body-mind question.
In order to undertake it, the very object of theology and neuroscience has to be analysed to ascertain whether the memory examined by both sciences constitutes the same phenomenon. Then, one should analyse the philosophical assumptions of their discourses. Only these preliminary inquiries will allow to determine the philosophical area to build an integral reflexion. In turn, only this area may constitute the basis for such an anthropological-theological system that could retain its integrity vis-à-vis the discoveries of neuroscience.2018-01-01T00:00:00ZLa teología como posibilidad fundante de una ciencia más humana

He asserts that when it has taken place historically a unity between science and religion, science has been able to transcend values of utility and efficiency. This happens because the religion confers meaning to scientific results within an image of the world that involves the person as a whole. In this context, the Viennese invites to establish a dialogue with the science of ancient Greece in order to know more about more human ways of doing science and to be able to judge in perspective the achievements of scientific materialism. Our objective in this work will be to attend to this invitation of Viennese studying the relation that exists between mathematics and theology in the Ptolemaic writings. We believe that the Alexandrian is an emblematic case of this communion between science and theology and –in this sense– allows us to rethink contemporary science as a cognitive task more attentive to the human and existential implications of its theories and models.2018-01-01T00:00:00ZLa crítica de Juan de santo Tomás del concepto suareciano de materia prima

In this sense must be understood the Poinsot’s critique of some ideas of Scotistic and Ockhamistic origin, present in the metaphysics of Suarez, referred to the ontological status of the material substance, such as: the actuality of matter, the substantial mode of union, the immediate inhesion of the quantity in matter and the idea of entitative extension (extensio entitativa).2018-01-01T00:00:00ZIn search of the person. Title: In search of the person. Towards a real revolution
Abstract: The discussion about a difference between brain and soul or mind is now at the center of the anthropological debate. It seems that the pioneers in this current polemic have a reductionistic view of human nature, inherited from the Cartesian solution to mind-body problem and the modern materialistic explanation of reality. This view – dualistic or monistic – about the opposition between material and immaterial structure of the person, claims that as a consequence of scientific progress, the human brain in the future could be completely explained in naturalistic terms. On the other hand, according to the new results of scientific research, this situation reveals the possibility to develop a new, more adequate paradigm of man as an incarnated person. This change was called by many researchers “the passage from the mind-body problem to the person-body problem”. It seems that the Aristotelian-Thomistic approach is the most suitable to describe this “paradigm shift”. Aristotelian-Thomistic philosophy undoubtedly encourages lively dialogue between philosophy and contemporary sciences through its dual ontology. Thus, it can give suitable answers for questions about the nature of human reason (intentionality); unity of composition of the human brain and the role of causality in natural processes.2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
