The Oxford Movement has been the object of numerous studies. Books, articles and introductions to editions of source works have abounded during these last years. The subject is treated by authors of different Christian confessions and analyzed from various and at times heterogeneous points of view. As such, they are often difficult to integrate within a global vision. This situation urgently demands at least the establishment of some basic coordinates for reading and interpreting the abundant source materials. It is a task which would permit a true progress in the understanding of Tractarian ideas, the personality of the protagonists and the historical sense of the Movement.es_ES
