This paper examines the boundaries between reality and fiction in the audiovisual discourses. In the last years, there has been a significant group of films –specially coming from the documentary area– that proposes to re-negotiate those boundaries. Inside this field, hybridations and detours of non-fiction shape a prolific line that is questioning the myth of objectivity that characterizes documentary in particular and visual journalism in general. In order to clarify this ambiguity, this paper tries to reflect on the limits of the documentary for the depiction of the real world. We will pay attention to some television and cinematographic works that widen the classic conventions of non-fiction genre.es_ES
