Abstract
Apart from being one of the main and early receptors of Pragmatism, Miguel de Unamuno (1864-1936) was particularly influenced by William James (1842-1910). The four books of the American philosopher that Unamuno read, Principles of Psychology (1890), The Will to Believe (1897), The Varieties of Religious Experience (1902) and Pragmatism (1907), were a source of inspiration and influence in the development of Miguel de Unamuno’s thought.
