| dc.description.abstract | In this paper I show the compatibility of Polo’s account of causality with current paradigms in theoretical biology. The article shows how the analysis of vital activity leads to a distinction between the functions of the vegetative life, the organic faculties of sensitive life and the habits of the human person.
