El persistente fantasma de la vieja madre en el Buscón

Abstract

El propósito del ensayo es examinar la construcción de la figura de la madre-vieja en El Buscón desde el punto de vista de las teorías feministas de la discapacidad. El análisis revisa la genealogía discursiva de la representación de las mujeres como cuerpos discapacitados en el mundo occidental y propone que la inserción negativa de esta figura en el mundo de la novela responde a un intento agresivo de descartar el de recho a la subjetividad para mantener la identidad privilegiada del creador y del grupo que representa. The purpose of this essay is to examine the construction of the old mother figure in El Buscón from perspective of disability feminist theory. The analysis revises the discursive genealogy of representing women as disabled bodies in the Western world and proposes that the insertion of repulsive old women in the text responds to an aggressive intent to suppress the right to subjectivity in order to maintain the privileged identity position of the creator and the group that he represents.
