Tres escarabeos egipcios en la necrópolis en El Castillo (Castejón, Navarra)

Abstract

Los escarabeos publicados en este artículo fueron hallados durante las labores de excavación en la necrópolis de El Castillo en Castejón (Navarra). Su aparición en este lugar indica un comercio a través del río Ebro, navegable en la Antigüedad, entre la zona de la costa y el interior, siendo estos elementos egipcios los más septentrionales e interiores encontrados, hasta este momento, en la Península Ibérica. Piezas de tipo egipcio se han encontrado en otras necrópolis del litoral de la península.--------------The scarabs reported in this article were found during the excavation´s works at the necropolis of El Castillo in Castejón (Navarra). Its apparition in this place indicates a trade along the river Ebro, navigable in ancient times, between the coast and the inland. Moreover, these Egyptian items represent the most septentrional and inland ever found, up to this moment, in the Iberian Peninsula. Egyptian‐type documents have been found in other necropolis at the Littoral of the Peninsula.
