El viaje constante de la narrativa medieval

Abstract

Estrictamente hablando, el libro de viajes no existe en la literatura española hasta mediados del siglo XIV porque los viajes obedecían a la necesidad. Se hacía el relato del objeto del mismo, pero no del viaje en sí, aunque existe literatura de viajes en la que éste es componente intrínseco de la obra y forma parte esencial de ella. La autora distingue entre viajes de fondo, viajes fantásticos y el viaje como recurso literario, poniendo ejemplos de la literatura medieval española. Strictly, the libro de viajes (book of journeys) doesn’t exist in Spanish literature until half the 14th century, because trips obeyed to necessity. Tales about the journey’s object were made, but not about the journey itself, even though there is some journeys literature in which the journey’s object is an intrinsic component of the work and an essential part of it. The author distinguishes between deep journeys, fantastic journeys and the journey as a literary resource, with examples of Medieval Spanish Literature.
