The first philosophical treatise on privation belongs to Aristotle. The notion which the Stagirite had of privation as well as its relation to non-being is examined. Difficulties in the knowledge of non-being highlighted -according to Aristotle- by Parmenides and Plato are considered. After a brief review of the solutions offered by the Schoolmen, Millán-Puelles' contribution to the enlightening of the possibility and legitimacy of the Knowledge of privation is examined.es_ES
