Abstract

Este artículo estudia la agudeza en Libro de todas las cosas y otras muchas más, título perteneciente a la prosa satírico burlesca de Francisco de Quevedo. En la obra, presentada a modo de parodia de las misceláneas, un género muy popular desde mediados del siglo xvi, el autor desarrolla las constantes satíricas de la época sirviéndose de una gran variedad de procedimientos de agudeza. Los principales recursos son, como en la mayor parte de los títulos de esta prosa del autor, el equívoco y la dilogía, a los que se suma la perogrullada como medio para burlarse de los repertorios enciclopédicos. This article studies the agudeza in Libro de todas las cosas y otras muchas más, a satirical burlesque work by Francisco de Quevedo. The text presents itself as a parody of the miscellanies, a literary genre that became very popular from the mid 16th century onwards, and in it the author develops the satirical motifs of this period by using a great variety of procedures of agudeza. The main resources are, like in most of the titles of this author’s prose, the equívoco and the dilogy, to which the truism is added as a means of mocking the encyclopedic repertoires.
