Abstract

The Holy See and the International Committee of the Red Cross entered into an agreement during the First World War due to the necessity of carrying out a wide range of humanitarian aid. The Holy See recognized and praised the work of true Christian charity carried out by the Geneva institution which is made up of protestants. This article centers on the correspondence between the Holy See and the International Committee of the Red Cross during the Great War.

La Santa Sede y el Comité Internacional de la Cruz Roja entraron en relación durante la Primera Guerra Mundial debido a la necesidad de realizar una vasta acción humanitaria. La Santa Sede reconoció y alabó la verdadera obra de caridad cristiana que llevaba a cabo la institución ginebrina compuesta por protestantes.
