Qué es y qué no es la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia: una propuesta

Abstract

El artículo aborda dos aspectos fundamentales del estatuto epistemológico de la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia. En primer lugar, las relaciones entre el Magisterio y la teología, explicando cómo deben integrarse dentro de una misma disciplina, sin constituir dos campos separados. Luego trata del objeto de estudio de la DSI, que incluye tanto la moralidad de comportamientos individuales como la justicia de instituciones sociales, elementos que requieren un tratamiento diferenciado por responder a dos lógicas morales distintas. A partir de esta primera descripción de la realidad que conocemos como DSI, será posible luego profundizar en su método de trabajo y en su correcta aplicación.

This article deals with two fundamental aspects of the epistemological state of the Social Doctrine of the Church. The first is the relationship between the Magisterium and Theology, explaining how they ought to be integrated within the same discipline without making up two separate spheres. Secondly, the article deals with the object of study of the Social Doctrine of the Church, which includes the morality of individual behavior as well as justice of social institutions: elements which must be dealt with individually because they respond to two different moral reasonings. From this first description of the reality known as the Social Doctrine of the Church, it is possible to later grow in a deeper understanding of its working method and its correct application.
