Notas lingüísticas sobre vasquismos presentes en las regiones limítrofes del País Vasco

Abstract

El conocimiento del castellano que se manifiesta en la documentación notarial de esta zona norteña de los siglos XIV a XVI nos permite ya plantear algunas cuestiones en torno a su ubicación y establecer posibles afinidades en el marco de las variedades o dialectos del noroeste peninsular, sobre todo en lo concerniente a la presencia del elemento vasco. Se concluye que la tradición escrituraria del País Vasco es de filiación netamente castellana, lo que permite deducir que las desviaciones observadas respecto al estándar tienen fundamento lingüístico, reflejo de los usos autóctonos de los escribientes, en los que sin duda subyace la presencia y conocimiento de una lengua común, el euskara.

The knowledge of Castilian manifested in the notarial documents of the Northern zone of the 14th to 16th centuries allows us to pose some questions about the location of the Basque Country and to identify possible affinities in the context of varieties or dialects of Northwestern Spain, especially with regard to the presence of Basque element. We conclude that the scriptural tradition of the Basque Country is purely Spanish descent, which implies that the observed deviations from the standard have a linguistic basis and reflect the native uses of the clerks, in which without a doubt underlies the presence and knowledge of a common language, the Basque language.
