El cuento de las sentencias agudas (Aarne-Thompson, tipo n.º 1534): una nueva versión y algunos datos históricos

Abstract

Tomando como punto de partida un reciente trabajo de M. Chevalier sobre la emergencia de la novela breve, se ofrecen nuevos datos acerca del cuento tradicional «Series of Clever Unjust Decisions» (AARNE-THOMPSON, type 1534) dentro del ámbito español. Algunos de los episodios de este cuento pueden aparecer independientes, tal como se documenta en dos textos extraídos de publicaciones españolas del siglo XVIII. A continuación se transcribe una versión completa recogida recientemente en lengua asturiana y, finalmente, se procede a un breve análisis de la estructura formal y contenido ideológico de esta última versión, relacionándola con las de las demás —y muy escasas— versiones publicadas en el ámbito hispánico y también con algunos textos paralelos y más breves como la «Historia del cadí, el picaro» de Las mil y una noches o la Farsa y justicia del Corregidor, de Alejandro Casona. Taking as the starting point a recent work by M. Chevalier about the raise of the short story, we offer new data about the folk tale «Series of Clever Unjust Decisions» (AARNE-THOMPSON, type 1534) within the Spanish limits. Some episodes of this tale may appear as independent stories as we document in two texts from Spanish publications of the 18th century. Then we transcribe a complete versión recently found in Asturian language and, finally, we offer a brief analysis of the formal structure and the ideological contení of this versión, connecting it with the structure and content of the other —really scarce— versions published in Spanish and also with other texts which are parallel and shorter such as «Historia del cadí, el picaro », from Las mil y una noches or Farsa y justicia del Corregidor by A. Casona.
