El disfraz bucólico en la poesía española del siglo XVI

Abstract

El seudónimo pastoril permitió que los poetas se ocultaran tras el disfraz de unos personajes en los que depositaban rasgos de su fisonomía propia que los usos de la creación poética obligaban a silenciar. La ficción pastoril asumía con naturalidad esa representación gracias a su tradición alusiva. En el Renacimiento se recurrió a ella con frecuencia, aunque no siempre es posible determinar la identidad de cada personaje, ni acaso se pretendiera representarla en todos los casos. Pero la tendencia general de los textos poéticos a esconder tras el sobrenombre pastoril a personas de la vida real se pone bien de manifiesto en el presente artículo. The pastoral pseudonym gave the poets an opportunity to conceal behind the disguise of some characters to whom they conferred his own personal features that, according to usage, the poetical creativity compelled to keep them silent. The pastoral fiction assumed that representation in a natural way thanks to the allusive tradition. In the Renaissance they frequently made use of it though it is not always possible to determine the identity of each character, and perhaps they did not intend to represent it in every case. But the general tendency of the poetical texts to hide real persons behind a pastoral nickname is well shown in this article.
