La "ética de la acogida" en el pensamiento de Emmanuel Levinas. Una lectura derridiana

Abstract

Levinas busca una instancia pre-originaria donde situar una ética anterior a toda mediación conceptual. Este ámbito se alcanza en la hospitalidad o acogida del rostro, que es una apertura entendida como vulnerabilidad. El sujeto es un rehén elegido por el otro como sujeto de su persecución. La iniciativa proviene del otro, la responsabilidad atañe al yo, así Levinas introduce la pasividad en la constitución de la subjetividad. Derrida ve en esta asignación electiva la prueba de que la ética de la hospitalidad es una ética violenta y traumática.

Levinas seeks a primordial moment to situate Ethics prior to any conceptual formulation. This sphere can be found in hospitality or the acceptance of the face, which is an openness understood as vulnerability. The subject is a hostage chosen by the other as the subject of his persecution. The initiative begins from the other, the responsibility rests on the I, thus Levinas introduces passivity in the constitution of subjectivity. Derrida sees in this elective assignation the proof that the ethics of hospitality is a violent and traumatizing ethics.
