Del uso de la voluntad en el De anima de Suárez

Abstract

Suárez define la noción de dominio en la relación que los seres humanos tienen con el mundo y con la realidad. Este dominio está vinculado a la noción psicológica de «uso» que Suárez describe como un acto de voluntad en su tratado «De anima». «Usar» es una capacidad específica de la voluntad humana, pero debe ser entendida primariamente no como apropiación, sino como capacidad de crear una mediación racional y libre con la realidad y ordenar las cosas al fin que se propone el ser humano.

Suarez defines the notion of dominion [dominium] in the relationship that human beings have with the world and with reality. This dominion is linked to the psychological notion of ‘use’, which Suarez describes as an act of will in his book ‘De anima’. ‘To use’ is a specific capacity of the human will, but it must be understood primarily not as appropriation but as the ability to create a rational and freely mediation with the reality and to order the things at the end that human being proposes.
