Abstract

El siglo XX ha conocido diversos planteamientos del ser y de la función del lenguaje. Muchos de ellos, cuando se han aplicado a la Sagrada Escritura, se han demostrado como limitados o sesgados: bien porque dejan el significado del texto en el pasado, bien porque entregan el sentido a la subjetividad del lector. Sin embargo, un estudio desapasionado de todos los elementos presentes (sobre todo, los que consideran la presencia del enunciador en el enunciado) en el lenguaje y en su configuración en textos muestran con claridad la función hermenéutica de la tradición y la necesidad de tenerla presente para entender correctamente la Biblia.

The twentieth century saw the emergence of different concepts concerning the nature and function of language. Many of these, when applied to Sacred Scripture, have shown themselves as being limited or biased: in some cases because they leave the meaning of the text in the past, or because entrust the meaning to the subjectivity of the reader. However, a dispassionate study of the elements present (above all, those which consider the presence of the speaker in the utterance) in language and in its configuration in the texts shows clearly the hermeneutic function of tradition and the need to keep it in mind in order to understand the Bible correctly.
