Juan Antonio Pérez Bonalde, a poet from Venezuela, translator of Heine and the author of «Canto del Niágara» (base of a José Martfs outstanding text about Modernism) was strongly influenced by Gustavo A. Bécquer, especially from 1870 on: poetry before science, inability of language to convey the feelings, voidness of love, and the world of images. In a couple of Bonalde's poems there is a delibérate imitation of Bécquer. | es_ES |
