La identidad de los cristianos laicos a la luz del Concilio Vaticano II

Abstract

En el marco del 50 aniversario del Concilio Vaticano II, este artículo se centra en la identidad teológica de los fieles laicos, cuyo sentido fue expuesto en Lumen Gentium, particularmente en su n. 31. Previamente se proporciona un mínimo de contexto histórico-teológico. En un tercer momento se presenta lo más significativo del debate posconciliar sobre el tema, concretamente la propuesta del laico como cristiano “sine addito” (sin añadidura). Como propuesta de clarificación teológica, se dedica un último apartado a las modalidades complementarias de la secularidad, para mostrar cómo se sitúan ahí los fieles laicos. Las conclusiones tienen carácter de síntesis y sugerencias.

On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Second Vatican Council, this article focuses on the theological identity of the lay faithful which has been dealt with in Lumen gentium, particularly in the paragraph thirty-one. The article firstly explains the historical-theological context. Afterward, it presents the most significant elements of the post-conciliar debate on the theme, concretely the consideration of the laity as Christians «sine addito» (without addition). The last section strives to offer a theological clarification, covering the complementary modes of secularity in order to show the way the lay faithful are situated there. The article concludes with a summary and some suggestions.
