La misericordia en el rito para reconciliar a un solo penitente

Abstract

El papa Francisco en la Bula de convocación del Jubileo extraordinario de la misericordia escribe a todos los fieles: «De nuevo ponemos convencidos en el centro el sacramento de la Reconciliación, porque nos permite experimentar en carne propia la grandeza de la misericordia» . Si se trata ahora de reflexionar sobre este mensaje, nada mejor que hacerlo sobre el Rito para reconciliar a un solo penitente del Ritual de la Penitencia. El primer paso será la presentación de las referencias explícitas a la misericordia, siguiendo el orden del rito, para mejor percibir, en el segundo apartado, cómo el penitente es introducido en la percepción de la misericordia divina y tratar, en el tercer apartado, de la llamada que recibe a ser misericordioso.

Pope Francis writes, in the Bull of Indiction of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, to all the faithful: «Let us place the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the centre once more in such a way that it will enable people to touch the grandeur of God’s mercy with their own hands». There is no better way to ponder on this message than reflecting on the Rite for the Reconciliation of Individual Penitents in the Ritual of Penance. This article begins by presenting the explicit references to mercy, following the order of the rite, in order to better comprehend –in the second chapter– how the penitent is introduced in the perception of divine mercy and to explain –in the third chapter– the calling that the same receives to be merciful.
