Hermenéutica, autonomía y valor del arte

Abstract

Desde una posición neohermenéutica, Bertram critica el paradigma de la autonomía del arte (representado, a su juicio, por Danto y Menke) y defiende que hay continuidad entre el arte y las demás prácticas humanas y que solo por referencia a estas el arte alcanza su valor. Esta nueva posición se hace cargo, en cierto modo, del acontecer reciente del arte (cosa que no conseguía, muy a su pesar, la hermenéutica filosófica clásica), pero presenta algunas insuficiencias. En este trabajo discuto, en primer lugar, la crítica de Bertram a las posiciones de Menke y Danto. En segundo lugar, utilizando argumentos de De Azúa, planteo la duda de si esta nueva figura, en el fondo hegeliana, da verdaderamente cuenta de lo que le confiere al arte su lugar en la vida humana y lo distingue de ella. Defiendo, pues, la tesis de la autonomía del arte, frente a Bertram.

From a new-hermeneutical position, Bertram criticizes the paradigm of the autonomy of art (represented, in his opinion, by Danto and Menke) and defends that there is continuity between art and other human practices and that only by reference to these, art reaches its value. In a certain way, this new position takes on the recent development of art (something that classical philosophical hermeneutics did not achieve), but it has some shortcomings. In this paper, I first discuss Bertram’s criticism of Menke and Danto’s positions. Secondly, using De Azúa’s arguments, I question if this new figure, ultimately Hegelian, really accounts for what does give art its place in human life and what does distinguish art and human life. Therefore I am defending the thesis of the autonomy of art, against Bertram.
