"Sentidos del sujeto": la hermenéutica retroactiva de Judith Butler

Abstract

En Los sentidos del sujeto (2016), Judith Butler afirma que la posibilidad del sujeto de dar cuenta de sí, un sujeto que de acuerdo con su teoría se configura ya antes de su propio nacimiento, está basada en los modelos literarios que presentan a los personajes relatando su propio alumbramiento. Esta “perspectiva imposible” permite al sujeto superar dos límites de la narración de sí: el temporal y el lógico-causal. La hipótesis de trabajo del presente artículo es que encontraríamos en la base de la hermenéutica del sujeto que Judith Butler propone en Los sentidos del sujeto una hermenéutica del texto literario, que conlleva la revisión de los conceptos de mimesis y verosimilitud aristotélicos. La aportación de Butler a la hermenéutica literaria habría sido fundar su hermenéutica del sujeto en una hermenéutica literaria retroactiva, próxima a la hermenéutica de la discontinuidad de J. Revel, y ajena al discurso que se rige por la dialéctica causa-efecto.

In Senses of the Subject (2016), Judith Butler argues that the subject’s ability to account for himself, a subject that according to her theory is already established before his own birth, is based on the literary models that present the characters recounting their own birth. This “impossible perspective” allows the subject to overcome two limits of the narration of oneself: the temporal and the logical- causal. The hypothesis of this article is that we find in the basis of the hermeneutics of the subject that Judith Butler proposes a hermeneutic of the literary text, which entails the revision of the Aristotelian Concepts of mimesis and verisimilitude. Judith Butler’s contribution to literary hermeneutics would have been to found her hermeneutics of the subject in a retroactive literary hermeneutics, close to Judith Revel’s hermeneutics of discontinuity, and not in the line of the discourse that is governed by the dialectics of cause and effect.
