Pautas para el análisis de la cohesión y la coherencia en textos españoles

Abstract

El objeto de estas páginas es proponer unas pautas para el análisis en textos españoles de la cohesión y la coherencia, aplicables a la práctica docente, y facilitar una información convenientemente actualizada y lo más integradora posible, que ayude a organizar la abundante bibliografía disponible. Como punto de partida, se abordan las consecuencias que tiene concebir el texto como unidad de análisis lingüístico. En segundo lugar, se sitúa del modo más esquemático posible el lugar que ocupan la cohesión y la coherencia en la organización del texto. En ese marco, se repasan los principales mecanismos que se asocian a cada una de estas propiedades, particularmente a la cohesión, al tiempo que se proponen unas pautas de análisis que concreten las distintas observaciones que se irán haciendo. The aim of these pages is to propose some guidelines to analyze the cohesion and coherence in Spanish texts, that could be useful in teaching activity, and to provide some actualized and integrating information, in order to organize the several available bibliography. As starting point, this article studies the consequences of understanding the text as a unit of linguistic analysis. Secondly, it locates the role played by cohesion and coherence in the organization of the text, in the most possible schematic way. In this frame, the main mechanisms associated to each of the qualities –cohesion in special– are reviewed and, at a time, this article offers many examples about each of the proposed aspects.
