El laberinto de la realidad: Combate de ciegos de Jerónimo López Mozo

Abstract

En la obra teatral Combate de ciegos (2000), Jerónimo López Mozo crea un laberinto complejo y ambiguo, simbólicamente a través de la pieza, y literalmente en el acto tres, “El laberinto de Escher”. La primera escena y la última se sitúan dentro de una residencia de ancianos o enfermos; funcionan como marco a la acción central (escenas 2-4), que parece ubicarse dentro de un sótano profundo, donde Anglada, el viejo torturador, sufre una venganza por sus crímenes pasados. A través de varios elementos postmodernos –la fragmentación del tiempo y del espacio, la intermedialidad y la intertextualidad, la multiplicación de perspectivas sin una norma fija– el dramaturgo establece una realidad dramática que puede ser una combinación de la realidad y las alucinaciones del protagonista, o puede ser completamente un mundo onírico. In his drama Combate de ciegos (2000), Jerónimo López Mozo creates a complex and ambiguous labyrinth, both symbolically throughout the play and literally iun act three, “The labyrinth os Escher”. The first and last scenes are situated in a home for the elderly or infim; they serve as a frame for the central action (scenes 2-4), which seems to take place in a deep cellar where Anglada, the former torturer, suffers vengeance for his past crimes. By means of a series of postmodern elements –the fragmentation of time and space, intermediality and intertextuality, the use of multiple perspectivas without a fixed norm– the dramatist establishes a dramatic reality which Could be the combination of reality and the hallucinations of the protagonista, or Could be entirely a dream world.
