    The digital age: connection or disconnection? Addressing youth loneliness in a hyperconnected world.

    In the "Data Age", where technology and connectivity are omnipresent, we paradoxically find ourselves with an unprecedented epidemic: the unwanted loneliness of our young people, which already affects one in four between the ages of 16 and 29. This research analyzes the causes of this emotional disconnection, focusing on the impact of social networks, applications and other devices that play a determining role in their well-being. Overinformation, the superficiality of online interactions and the search for immediate gratification are contributing to a false sense of connection with the real world and with personal relationships. Through this study we aim to analyze how through design we can contribute to building a more human digital future focused on relationships between people, where technology is redesigned to encourage meaningful interaction, empathy and combat unwanted loneliness. . This research article invites us to reflect on how to build a future where technology does not distance us, but rather brings us closer, exploring the causes and consequences of digital loneliness, through the design of tools that promote connection and well-being. This research contributes to the understanding of the impact of technology on personal relationships and offers a novel perspective on the need for a more human digital future through solutions that help us reconnect with the real world and with ourselves.
