    Henri de Lubac (1896-1991) is the author of one of the most original theological contributions of the twentieth century. This paper offers an approach to two of his main works: The Drama of Atheist Humanism and The Discovery of God. The first exposes the modern thought «tragic misunderstanding» that has led to the conception of God as man’s enemy. To debunk this misunderstanding, De Lubac proposes to recover the theology of the human being as an «image of God». The Discovery of God puts forward an original approach to this concept, which we try to make relevant to the modern-day reader. Finally, we inquire about the place occupied by Jesus Christ in our knowledge of God.
