La responsabilidad del artista. En torno a las relaciones de arte y moral
    (1994) Peña, J. (Jorge)
Millán-Puelles and Maritain suitably delimited the fields of ethics and art, doing what justice; self-determination of art and dignity of man demanded. Nevertheless, our reverence for the autonomy of art and dignity of man should neither lead us to declare the latter innocent ñor to free it from all responsibility. This is what George Steiner strongly states. The followers of absolute freedom seem not to realize the deep impact the work of art exercises upon the reader. Censorship is far more complex and intricate than champions of absolute freedom believe. At any rate, such a responsibility is no concern of the State but rather of the social community, specially the family and what has been called "the tribe". The art critic must assume his responsibility not only on what refers to aesthetic aspects; he must do so on what refers to the concept of man that springs from the work of art he analizes.

Mística 'ojalatera' y realismo en la santidad de la vida ordinaria
    (2002) Peña, J. (Jorge)
The article is centered in The Wayâ s point: âDo you really want to be a saint? Carry out the little duty of each moment: do what you ought and concentrate on what you are doingâ (nº 815) and specially be in the things you do. Whoever truthfully is in everything and entirely in all the things he or she does will do everything right, with passion and personal style. It is difficult to devote our mind and heart entirely to the things we are dealing with. We want to be â somewhere elseâ , in a â different placeâ , sorrounded by other circumstances. This is the â wishful misticismâ (mística ojalatera): an insidious and subtle enemy for these who seek for sanctity in everyday life.

    Narración y libertad
    (1996) Peña, J. (Jorge)
What is called by Polo as “the native freedom” derives from the ac-ceptance of the being offered and that is precisely known as such in the act of accepting it as a gift. This native freedom requires a destination to be unfolded. Freedom requires radicality as well as horizon. The ra-dical freedom only exists where its horizon is open to big question pu-ting the entire life at stake. The structure of the heroic myth illustra-tes the difficulties of the freedom. In the true free act we choice at the same time that we consent. The dialectic of this time free act is illumi-nated by the basic confidence of the native freedom and the taking into account of the beneficiary (destination).
