El artículo demuestra cómo el teatro producido por los escritores de la generación del 98, Unamuno, Azorín, Baroja, Valle-Inclán pervive a lo largo del siglo XX español. Hay una recuperación de estos autores en los nuevos montajes de la década del 60, y luego una reelaboración de algunas de sus propuestas y técnicas dramáticas – libertad formal y compromiso social– por los dramaturgos contemporáneos. The article shows how the theater produced by the writers of the Generation of ‘98, Unamuno, Azorín, Baroja, Valle-Inclán survive throughout the 20th century in Spain. There is a recuperation of these authors in new montages in the 60s, and later a reelaboration of some of their proposals and dramatic techniques—formal freedom and social commitment—by contemporary playwrights.
