J. Ratzinger ha ofrecido con su Jesús de Nazaret un importante legado teológico, madurado con los años, fruto de su estudio y de su vida interior. En él se conjugan de modo coherente meditación teológica e investigación exegética. Este artículo pone de relieve algunos de los aspectos más relevantes de la aportación de Ratzinger al estudio sobre Jesucristo. El A. destaca la perspectiva en la que se sitúa esta obra, en continuidad con las Vidas de Jesús de mediados del siglo XX, y caracterizada por una gran confianza en el conocimiento histórico y un delicado respeto por la amable penumbra que en ocasiones envuelve la revelación de Cristo.

Ratzinger’s Jesus of Nazareth is an important and mature theological legacy, fruit of years of study and prayer. It coherently combines theological meditation and exegetical investigation. Our article highlights some of the most relevant aspects of Ratzinger’s contribution to the study of Jesus Christ. Special attention is given to the perspective in which the book is set: continuity with the mid XXth century Lives of Jesus, trust in historical knowledge and a delicate respect for that lovely twilight which sometimes surrounds Jesus’ revelation.
