Abstract
This paper makes clear the significance of teleology in the natural world, showing its relevance in the task of reaching God through the intellect. The argument builds on the analysis of the concepts of directionality, cooperation and functionality. These notions, together with that of teleology, are then contrasted with the current scientific view of the world. Finally, the author demonstrates the continuity of his philosophical views with traditional realism, and shows the continued validity of Aquinas' teleology.
