The reign of Isabel II comprised the years 1833-1868. Various constitutional documents were in force during that historical period: the 1834 Royal Statute, the 1837 Constitution and the 1845 Constitution. Two further projects did not come into effect: the 1852 Constitution and the 1856 Constitution. All these documents contained articles concerning the relationship between Church and State.

Durante este periodo histórico fueron varios los documentos constitucionales que estuvieron vigentes: Estatuto Real, Constitución de 1837 y Constitución de 1845. Además, se elaboraron dos proyectos que no llegaron a entrar en vigor: Constitución de 1852 y Constitución de 1856. En todos ellos, se contenían preceptos que incidían sobre las relaciones Iglesia-Estado.
