La fórmula de gracia de Ex 34,6-7 refleja la ambivalencia propia de la representación de Dios en el Antiguo Testamento. La importancia de esta fórmula es manifiesta en la relectura que de ella hacen los demás libros veterotestamentarios. Nuestro centro de atención es el libro de los Doce, y dentro de este, los escritos de Joel y Jonás. La relectura de sendos libros enriquece el significado de Ex 34,6-7. No se encuentra en ellas esa ambigüedad. No obstante, sólo el escrito de Jonás hace honor a la universalidad de la misericordia divina inherente a dicha fórmula, por su reacción frente a Joel, al que critica por su cerrado particularismo y por su concepción justiciera de Dios.

The grace’s formula of Ex 34:6-7 reflects the ambivalence of the representation of God in the Old Testament. The importance of this formula is manifested in the rereading it make the other books of the Old Testament. Our focus is the Book of the Twelve, and within it, the rereading made of Joel and Jonah. Both rereading enrich the meaning of Ex 34:6-7. It is not in them that ambiguity. However, only the book of Jonah honors the universality of divine mercy inherent to that formula, by their reaction to Joel, whom critica for its closed particularism and his righteous conception of God.
