Especialmente en las últimas décadas, las funciones sociales atribuidas a los museos han experimentado una progresiva ampliación, caracterizada por la incorporación a sus espacios y actividades de nuevas audiencias de carácter muy diverso. Con el objetivo fundamental de convertirse en instituciones inclusivas y al servicio de toda la sociedad, han puesto el foco en aquellos segmentos poblacionales con más riesgo de encontrarse en sus márgenes o su periferia: personas con discapacidad, desempleados, enfermos, inmigrantes, presidiarios... Este artículo presenta una descripción y balance de algunas de las numerosas iniciativas llevadas a cabo por los museos navarros en esta dirección.

Azken hamarkadetan bereziki, museoei egokitutako funtzio sozialak pixkanaka zabal-duz joan dira, eta museoek beren gune eta jardueretan audientzia berri asko eta asko-tarikoak biltzea izan da hedatze horren ezaugarria. Erakunde inklusiboa eta gizarte osoaren zerbitzukoa izateko helburu nagusiarekin, bazterretan edo periferian egote-ko arrisku handiena duten biztanle segmentuetan jarri dute arreta: desgaitasuna duten pertsonak; langabeak; gaixoak; etorkinak; presoak... Nafarroako museoek ildo horre-tan izandako ekimen anitzetako batzuen deskribapena eta balantzea egiten da artikulu honetan.

Especially in the last decades, the social functions attributed to museums have expe-rienced a progressive expansion characterised by the integration of new audiences of a very diverse nature to both their spaces and activities. With the primary objective of becoming inclusive institutions in the service of the entire society, they have focused on those segments of the population at special risk of being on its margins or periphery: people with disabilities, the unemployed, the sick, the immigrants, the prisoners... This article presents a description and assessment of some of the many initiatives carried out by Navarrese museums in this regard.
