The person and his dignity are the basic pillars to discover and build the Law, natural and positive, in Javier Hervada’s legal thinking. It does not start from an abstract conception of the person, but from the real person within the framework of the existing reality. These premises allow the philosopher of Law to discover the existence of universal legal duties and rights that correspond to every human being by nature, as well as the configuration of the rules that should govern human relations.

La persona y su dignidad son los pilares básicos para descubrir y construir el Derecho, natural y positivo, en el pensamiento jurídico de Javier Hervada. No parte de una concepción abstracta de la persona, sino de la persona real en el marco de la realidad existente. Estas premisas permiten al filósofo del Derecho descubrir la existencia de deberes jurídicos universales y derechos que corresponden a todo ser humano por naturaleza, así como la configuración de las normas que deben regir las relaciones humanas.
