El presente artículo estudia el itinerario de Juan Soldevila Romero desde su nacimiento hasta su elección como obispo de Tarazona. El artículo estudia el ambiente en el que nació y los pasos sucesivos que dio en su carrera eclesiástica, prestando atención a sus dos etapas vallisoletanas -donde forjó su prestigio-, y a su estancia en Orense como secretario del Obispo. Su cursus honorum puede calificarse de modélico y muy ligado a las amistades eclesiásticas, políticas y alfonsinas.

The present article studies the itinerary of Juan Soldevila Romero from his birth to his election as bishop of Tarazona. The article studies the successive atmosphere in which he was born and the steps that he took in his ecclesiastical studies, paying attention to his two stages ofhis life in Valladolid -where heforged his prestige-, and to his stay in Orense as secretary of the Bishop. His cursus honorum can be described as a model and closely bound to the ecclesiastical, political and alj'onsinian friendships.
