Title: "La guerra comienza hoy".
The three major newspapers of Finland reported and payed attention to the war between Spain and the United States. Initially they gave support to the United States because of the traditional prejudices envisaging Spain as a tyrannical and intolerant country. But as the war went on, the Spanish side and its courage was increasingly appreciated and, eventually, all the Finish newspapers were dissapointed by the economic, non humanitarian reasons of the United States´intervention.1997-01-01T00:00:00ZPío Cid soy yo: Mito/auto/bio/grafía de Ángel Ganivet

Title: Pío Cid soy yo: Mito/auto/bio/grafía de Ángel Ganivet
This essay analyzes not the well known autobiographical nature of Pío Cid´s construction but, rather, Ganivet´s imaginative use of modernist aesthetics in his self-representation. Ganivet appropiated mythical figures and stereotypes drawn from Western and Spanish cultural traditions to construct an allegory of the Teacher, Poet, and benevolent "Pater familias", who took upon himself the labors of transforming the nation by first spiritually transforming himself and those around him.1997-01-01T00:00:00Z
