La Universidad en el proyecto sapiencial de Alasdair Macintyre

Abstract

En este trabajo de investigación hemos analizado una serie de textos sobre la universidad y la formación universitaria del filósofo contemporáneo anglosajón Alasdair MacIntyre. Para ello hemos seguido la hipótesis de trabajo de que en él se ha dado un itinerario intelectual de desarrollo sapiencial del autor británico que se centra en su conocida publicación de principios de los años 80 del siglo pasado After Virtue: A Study in Moral Theory. Como metodología hemos utilizado la histórico-contextual del análisis de esos textos referidos anteriormente en el camino filosófico de nuestro autor. Las principales conclusiones se refieren a la puesta de manifiesto de que existe una imagen especular de la universidad y de la formación universitaria con la sociedad moderna en que se desarrolla; a la importancia de la búsqueda de la unidad del saber, encontrando cada disciplina particular su puesto en la relación con otras disciplinas; y la importancia de la filosofía, y sobre todo de la teología, en el logro de una unidad sapiencial que forme de manera integral y supere la fragmentación vital que vive las personas y la entera sociedad.-------------In this investigation we have analysed some texts about the university and the university formation carried out by the moral philosopher Alasdair MacIntyre. Our hypothesis has been that the British author has evolved in a sapiential way, which is centred in his well-known work After Virtue: A Study in Moral Theory. As a methodology for this research, we have used the analysis of different texts that were written by the author in his intellectual itinerary. The main conclusions have been as follows. First, there exists a specular relationship between the university and its formation and the modern society in which the university is immersed. Second, the importance of the unity of knowledge, where each particular discipline should find its own relationship with others disciplines. Third, the importance of the philosophy and, above all theology, in order to achieve this unity of knowledge, which helps in the integral formation of the community and goes beyond the vital fragmentation of the persons and the entire society.
