This study analyzes an emergent process of new consumption
trends. It is characterized by the rejection to the massive and
uniform consumption and favours a behaviour which we call: “the
wistful consumption of aristocracy”, of which we describe its
main features: the slow time pace, the aesthetic reflexivity in the
style and in lifestyles, the preference for fashion and luxury, the
local dandyism and the melancholic emotivity.
