Adán, tipo de Cristo en la exégesis de San Ambrosio

Abstract

El Nuevo Testamento propone un sentido espiritual para muchos textos del Antiguo Testamento cuando ve en ellos una expresión del designio de Dios que se cumple en Jesucristo. Esto es lo que caracteriza de manera particular a la exégesis de los Padres de la Iglesia. San Ambrosio de Milán desarrolló esta forma particular de entender la Escritura distinguiendo el sentido literal del sentido espiritual. Su exégesis tipológica le lleva a descubrir a Cristo en las principales figuras de la Historia de la Salvación. La cristología que subyace en los comentarios de San Ambrosio se opone a la interpretación demasiado literal de los arrianos, causa de sus errores cristológicos. El artículo se centra en la figura de Adán como tipo de Cristo en la exégesis ambrosiana a la Escritura, en particular su comentario al Evangelio de San Lucas. A través de su exégesis, el obispo de Milán ofrece una síntesis de la fe de Nicea.

The New Testament provides spiritual meaning for many Old Testament texts, seeing in them an expression of God’s plan of salvation that is fulfilled in Jesus Christ. This is what characterizes particular exegesis of the Fathers of the Church way. Exegesis of St. Ambrose of Milan develops his particular understanding of Scripture and distinguished the literal meaning from the spiritual sense. Typological exegesis leads him to discover Christ in the main figures in the history of salvation. Christology underlying Ambrose’s comments oppose the too literal interpretation of the Arians, cause of their Christological mistakes. The article focuses on the figure of Adam as a type of Christ in the Ambrosian exegesis of Scripture, particularly his commentary on the Gospel of Luke. Through its exegesis, the bishop of Milan offers a synthesis of the Nicene faith.
