Ateísmo e increencia según el Concilio Vaticano II

Abstract

Este artículo estudia las enseñanzas del Concilio Vaticano II sobre el ateísmo y la increencia. Tras una presentación inicial del contexto teológico- magisterial previo a la reunión conciliar, se analizan los textos de Gaudium et spes 19-21 y Lumen Gentium 16, con objeto de valorar las claves teológicas fundamentales de la doctrina conciliar sobre esta cuestión. En el apartado final se exponen los principales desarrollos sobre la increencia contenidos en el magisterio eclesial posterior al Concilio Vaticano II.

This article studies the teachings of Vatican II on atheism and unbelief. It begins with a presentation of the Church’s magisterium previous to the Council. Secondly it analyzes Gaudium et spes 19-21 and Lumen Gentium 16, trying to assess the fundamental theological keys of the Second Vatican Council’s teachings on these issues. The final section highlights the main developments on unbelief contained in the post-Vatican II Church’s magisterium.
