La reorganización económica de la Santa Sede. Balance y perspectivas

Abstract

En los últimos meses estamos asistiendo a un proceso de reforma de las estructuras económico- organizativas de la Santa Sede y del Estado de la Ciudad del Vaticano. La novedad que preside estas reformas está dictada por los principios de transparencia y profesionalización. Además se está tratando de aligerar la organización para adecuarla a las necesidades reales del servicio al Romano Pontífice, a la Iglesia Universal y a los pobres, destinatarios últimos de la misión de la Iglesia. El principio de gratuidad que rige el cuidado esmerado de los bienes entregados por la generosidad de los fieles supone un estímulo para quienes llevan a cabo esa gestión. Las normas que regulan esa gestión transparente manifiestan dicha solicitud y el sentido último de la custodia de los bienes.

Recent months have seen a process of reform in the organizational and financial structures of the Holy See and the Vatican City State get underway. The new dimensions underlying these reforms are the principles of transparency and professionalism. Furthermore, the objective is to make such organization more effective in meeting the real needs of service to the Pope, the Universal Church and the poor, the ultimate beneficiaries of the Church’s mission. The principle of gratuitousness governs the meticulous care of the goods donated through the generosity of the faithful, and conditions the actions of those entrusted with such management; the rules that govern transparent management reflect their concern and custodianship of the goods donated.
