El teatro de Mira de Amescua

Abstract

Aprovechando las últimas investigaciones sobre el teatro del Siglo de Oro, se estudia la producción de Mira de Amescua. A partir de un análisis profundo, se llega a la conclusión de que —en su contexto social, religioso, moral y dramático—, su esencia dramática seria es la volubilidad de la diosa bifronte. Se destacan algunos aspectos originales del accitano en cuanto a moralidad, modernidad de sus ideas, visión del gracioso-criado y estructuración de los personajes, que lo hacen digno de ser contado entre los mayores genios de nuestro teatro. Making the most of the latest research work on the Golden Age of Spanish Literature, there have been studies made of the literary output of Mira de Amescua. Starting from his indepth analysis one comes to the conclusión that, in its social, religious, moral and dramatic context, its serious dramatic essence is the fickleness of the bifrontal goddess. Some original aspects of the author from Guadix such as his view of the witty servant and the composition of his characters are what make him worthy of being considered among the greatest geniuses of our theatre.
