La fotografía de arquitectura: comunicación y valor añadido

Abstract

If we think of the photographs of a new architectural project as a narratively coherent set of attractive images that are both artistic objects and specific communication tools, we have to be aware as photographers that we have to completely forget the correspondence between the subject photographed and the image that we are creating if we are seriously talking about communication and added value. Photographs themselves do not mean anything else than what we want to see in them, they are a proposal open to interpretation and it is on how they generate the sense of what they represent where their worth for communication exists and therefore, its added value.

Si pensamos en las fotografías de un nuevo proyecto de arquitectura como una serie narrativamente coherente de imágenes atrayentes que sean tanto objetos artísticos como herramientas de comunicación específicas, hemos de ser conscientes como fotógrafos que deberemos olvidar por completo la correspondencia entre el sujeto que fotografiamos y la imagen que creamos si de lo que estamos hablando es de comunicación y valor añadido. Las fotografías por sí mismas no significan nada más que lo que queramos ver en ellas, son una propuesta abierta a la interpretación y es en el modo de generar el sentido de lo que representan donde se encuentra su valor para la comunicación y, en consecuencia, para el valor añadido.
