Los desafíos de la Nueva Evangelización

Abstract

El A. ofrece unas reflexiones teológicas con ocasión de la preparación de la V Conferencia General del Episcopado Latinoamericano y del Caribe. Estas reflexiones se centran en la naturaleza teológica de la evangelización. Tras enumerar el itinerario seguido por las anteriores Conferencias Generales como marco en el que situar la V Conferencia General, Monroy destaca el carácter cristocéntrico de la Evangelización y llama la atención sobre Jesucristo como Evangelio del Padre y primer evangelizador. La evangelización pide, antes que nada, que los evangelizadores encuentren a Jesucristo y provoquen, además, el encuentro con Cristo. Las páginas finales están dedicadas a mostrar cómo este encuentro, cuando es auténtico, se convierte en fuente de cultura cristiana y de solidaridad humana, ya que el Evangelio enseña a amar al hombre en su concreta humanidad.

The author offers these reflections on the Fifth General Conference of the Bishops of Latin America and the Caribbean. Following a commentary on the course of the previous General Conferences as a framework for the Fifth General Conference, Monroy emphasizes the Christocentric character of Evangelization and draws attention to Jesus Christ as the Gospel of the Father and the first Evangelist. Above all, the Gospel demands that evangelizers search for Jesus Christ and help to find Him. The final pages show how this encounter, when authentic, becomes a source of Christian culture and human solidarity, as the Gospels teach love of man is his concrete reality.
