Rasgos esenciales de los profesores excelentes en su relación con los alumnos tras el visionado de películas pedagógicamente valiosas

Abstract

El punto de partida de este estudio es que el buen cine pedagógico es capaz de suscitar, vicariamente, ricas experiencias vividas acerca del modo de ser y relacionarse un adulto con menores, especialmente como espectadores-profesores bien predispuestos. Seleccionamos quince profesores participantes, y elegimos tres películas consideradas pedagógicamente valiosas: el criterio central de éstas fue contar con un profesor-protagonista con claros indicios de excelencia en la relación educativa con sus alumnos. Gracias a un cuidadoso visionado de los films, los participantes experimentaron subjetivamente un considerable número de significados vividos a partir de escenas representativas de esas películas; escenas en las que los protagonistas mostraban claramente ser educadores ejemplares en su relación con los alumnos. A continuación, los participantes narraron relatos sensibles, derivados de su experiencia vivida, sobre aspectos y matices de algunos de los más plausibles rasgos de excelencia educadora presentes en tales protagonistas-profesores. En base a esos relatos, aplicamos rigurosamente el método fenomenológico- hermenéutico, como es propuesto por van Manen. Tras ese proceso obtuvimos una serie de significados esenciales sobre lo que es –y debería ser– un profesor excelente a partir de las experiencias vicariamente vividas acerca del modo de ser y relacionarse con los alumnos esos destacados profesores-protagonistas. Al final, presentamos el Texto Fenomenológico, que recoge de forma evocativa los mejores hallazgos –seleccionados en este artículo– de esta investigación no convencional.

The starting point of this study is that good pedagogical cinema is capable of provoking, indirectly, rich lived experiences about the way of being and relating and adult to children, especially in wellpredisposed teacher-viewers. Fifteen involved teachers were selected as participants. Additionally, the authors selected three movies considered pedagogically valuable. The central criterion of the selection was to have a teacher-protagonist with clear signs of excellence in their educational relationship with students. Thanks to a careful viewing of the fi lms, the participants experienced vicariously a considerable number of lived meanings from those signifi cant scenes where the protagonists showed to be clearly exemplary teachers in their relationship with the students. Next, the participants narrated sensitive stories, derived from their lived experience, on aspects and nuances of some of the most plausible traits of educational excellence present in such protagonists-teachers in the fi lms. Based on these stories, we rigorously applied the hermeneutic-phenomenological method, as it is proposed by van Manen. After this process, we obtained a series of essential meanings about what is –and should be– an excellent teacher from the vicariously lived experiences regarding the way of being and relating to the students those outstanding teachersprotagonists. In the end, we present the Phenomenological Text, which collects the best fi ndings –selected in this paper–from this unconventional research in a vivid and evocative way.
