Relaciones autoridades civiles y eclesiásticas en las Visitas de Idolatrías, Lima, siglo XVII. Conflictos y oposiciones

Abstract

Durante el siglo XVII en Lima se desarrollaron las visitas de extirpación de idolatrías entre los indígenas. Si bien el sistema fue aprobado por los arzobispos y virreyes, lo cierto es que contó con oposiciones y resistencias de parte de diversas autoridades lo que contribuyeron a forjarlas.

In Lima during the 17th century visits took place for the extirpation of idolatry among the indigenous peoples. Although the system was approved by the archbishops and viceroys, the truth is that it received opposition and resistance from several authorities, and these contributed to shape the visits in a particular way.
