La sede primada durante el reinado de Pedro I de Castilla

Abstract

Una de las múltiples facetas que ofrece la controvertida figura de Pedro I de Castilla es la que explora las relaciones que mantuvo con la Iglesia de su reino. Para ejemplificarlo, el presente artículo se ha centrado en lo sucedido en la sede primada de Toledo. En él se mira, primeramente, de dentro hacia fuera, repasando las relaciones que mantuvieron cuatro arzobispos toledanos con el monarca, para pasar después a mostrar la realidad interna de la propia archidiócesis y de sus principales instituciones.

One of the many facets offered by the controversial figure of Peter I of Castile is that which explores the relations he maintained with the Church of his Kingdom. In order to illustrate this, we have focused this article on what happened in the Primatial See of Toledo. It looks, firstly, from the inside out, reviewing the relations between four archbishops of Toledo and the monarch, and then, showing the internal realities of the archdiocese and its main institutions.
