José de Nazaret: Mt 1-2 y sus efectos en la tradición viva de la Iglesia

Abstract

El objetivo de la tesis es una reflexión exegética de la figura de San José en el evangelio de la infancia de Mateo, mediante un análisis narrativo. La crítica exegética y el Magisterio han puesto de manifiesto que el método histórico crítico exclusivamente no es capaz de ofrecer el sentido completo de los textos bíblicos. Dicho sentido se puede alcanzar cuando la metodología filológica e histórica se insertan en una metodología teológica. Por este motivo nos parecía que la figura de San José era un buen modo de proponer esta reflexión desde un punto de vista práctico. Ya que el Santo Patriarca aparece escasamente en el Evangelio, pero su figura se engrandece en la vida de la Iglesia, no sólo en la piedad popular, sino también en el sensus fidelium y en el desarrollo de la teología. Y este engrandecimiento no se ha hecho de espaldas a la Sagrada Escritura sino desde ella y a través de ella. La investigación aclara con el análisis narrativo que las acciones humanas nos configuran como personas y esto se traduce en la narración. A mayor desarrollo de la acción, mayor riqueza del personaje. Y desde esta perspectiva José de Nazaret es el personaje más desarrollado en el Evangelio de la Infancia de Mateo.

objective of this thesis is an exegetical reflection of the figure of Saint Joseph in the Gospel of the childhood of Matthew, through a narrative analysis. The exegetical criticism and the Magisterium have shown that the critical historical method alone is not capable of offering the full meaning of the biblical texts. This meaning can be reached when the philological and historical methodology are inserted into a theological methodology. For this reason it seemed to us that the figure of Saint Joseph was a good way to propose this reflection from a practical point of view. Although the Holy Patriarch hardly appears in the Gospel, however, his figure is enhanced in the life of the Church, not only in the popular piety, but also in the sensus fidelium and in the development of the theology. And this enhancement has not been performed behind the back of the Sacred Scripture but from within and through it. The investigation clarifies with the narrative analysis that human actions shape us as people and this is translated into the narrative. The greater the development of the action, the greater the richness of the figure. And from this perspective, Joseph of Nazareth is the most developed figure in the Gospel of the Childhood of Matthew.
