Robotización, ¿sólo cambiará el empleo?

Abstract

The first industrial revolution was that of the steam engine, the second one of electricity and assembly lines, the third one, that of computers started in 1960 and that nowadays drives the R + D + i triad (research, development and innovation). We are now entering the fourth revolution or revolution 4.0 based on digital technology, artificial intelligence, globalization and hyperconnectivity. This new context is changing not only our way of life but also of working. The place, the time, the type of task changes radically in the context of the 4th industrial revolution. The sociolabor scenario is currently facing important challenges: the aging of the population, a high level of unemployment and new sectors that will lead employment, but above all an exponential growth of the technology associated with robotization and the globalization of markets. This situation is causing important changes in the educational systems of the countries and in the organization of work in the companies. Because all, from the academic authorities, human resources consultants and national and international public administrations, raise an important reflection on the future of employment. This article contains some of the most important conclusions about this topic at national and international level.

La primera revolución industrial fue la del motor de vapor, la segunda la de la electricidad y las cadenas de montaje, la tercera, la de los ordenadores iniciada en 1960 y que llega a nuestros días impulsando la tríada I+D+i (investigación, desarrollo e innovación). Entramos ahora en la cuarta revolución o revolución 4.0 basada en la tecnología digital, la inteligencia artificial, la globalización y la hiperconectividad. Este nuevo contexto está cambiando no sólo nuestro modo de vivir sino también de trabajar. El lugar, el tiempo, el tipo de tarea cambia radicalmente en el contexto de la 4ª revolución industrial. El escenario socio laboral se enfrenta actualmente a importantes desafíos: el envejecimiento de la población, un alto nivel de paro y nuevos sectores que encabezarán el empleo, pero sobre todo un crecimiento exponencial de la tecnología asociada a la robotización y la globalización de los mercados. Esta situación está provocando importantes cambios en los sistemas educativos de los países y en la organización del trabajo en las empresas. Por todo ello, desde instancias académicas, consultoras de recursos humanos y administraciones públicas nacionales e internacionales se está llevando a cabo una importante reflexión sobre el futuro del empleo. En este artículo se recogen algunas de las conclusiones más importantes a nivel nacional e internacional.
